The Alliot team attended Hardware Pioneers Max 2026 at ExCeL London to connect with businesses, technology providers and innovators exploring the latest developments in Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, smart monitoring technologies and connected devices. We caught up with our MD, Craig Herrett to gather his thoughts on the event itself.
Hardware Pioneers was held at ExCeL London between 10 and 11 June 2026. The Alliot team travelled from Huddersfield down to London to connect with businesses and individuals about the use cases of IoT.
Hardware Pioneers Max has historically been a component-led show, but over the past few years, we’ve seen more of our suppliers, customers and even competitors attending.
Last year, it felt like it was shifting towards a mix of components and solution-led conversations, which is why we attended. This shift in event focus convinced us to attend this year.
Some attendees were purely component-focused and didn’t immediately align with Alliot’s finished solutions, while others were actively looking to build solutions and were very engaged once they understood what’s already available in the market. The atmosphere was lively, and there were a similar amount of attendees compared to what we've seen at other events.
Hardware Pioneers isn't typically a trend-led exhibition due to its component focus, with many conversations centred around antennas and hardware technologies.
For us, the most valuable discussions focused on practical IoT use cases such as inventory counting, legionella monitoring and other smart monitoring applications.
We had a great time at Hardware Pioneers, bringing awareness to IoT and it's use cases has always been a focus for us, and this event enabled us to do that. We're continuing to grow our product range, and there's a lot to be excited about in the pipeline.
The event provided an opportunity to discuss a range of IoT solutions and connected technologies designed to help organisations improve visibility, efficiency and operational performance.
Strong interest in Alliot offering full-stack IoT solutions, particularly around legionella monitoring, camera-based people and inventory counting, plus bin and energy monitoring.
The positive interactions and keen interest in our IoT solutions.
We found the demographic of people at Hardware Pioneers to be in line with what we're aiming for. We saw several partners there too, which proves the event is relatable to what we're looking to do. We'll be contacting the people we met in the coming weeks, excited to discuss any ongoing projects and plans moving forward.
Wiktor (for flying over and setting up, while I managed to go to the wrong hotel and then walk 30 mins back…), Rob (covering day 2), and Kate, Faizan, Dawson and Matt for the prep, plus the Hardware Pioneers team.
